You Make My Hearth Sing

More Valentines!
Yes I am on a role with the Sweet Talk Postage Stamp paper. I paired this stamp with some music paper from My Minds Eye and some red patterned paper from Chatterbox. Then I added some chocolate brown cardstock and used a Martha Stewart edge punch. I cut some music notes from my Cricut using Gypsy Wanderings and added a bow of Maraschino Twine from The Twinery.

Be Thankful

I'm really not much for "Fall Decor", I prefer all things Halloween! But I decided to make a new banner for my office. Of course I put it up before I photographed it, and of course I hung it in a awkward spot to photograph but I did my best.

Lest start with the close up shot so you can see what the banner is. I used the leaf from Gypsy Wanderings to make make the "flags" of the banner.

The whole thing looks like this hanging in above my desk. It says "Be Thankful" which is a good reminder for this year. It's hard to be thankful when things are going wrong, but I still have lots in my life to be thankful for.

I used 5 colors of cardstock to make the leaves, red, brown, pea green, yellow and orange. Then I used a paper from a bunch of different companies, 7 Gypsys, Pinecone Press, and We R Memory Keepers for the inside leaves, and tied it with orange, yellow and brown ribbon.

I used one of the fonts from Opposites Attract to make the letters, I like this one because it's very simple.

I love the way it came out, and I hope my co-workers did too.

Just a Little Lace

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this card. I was trying to make a dress out of a scalloped circle. Someone told me it looks like a scroll, lol maybe it does a little. This was a scalloped circle from Gypsy Wanderings that I cut for a different card and didn't end up using. I didn't want to throw it away, so I tried this. I just cut out a few pieces till it looked like a dress (or so I though). The silver background is actually wrapping paper that I bought at Ikea a few years ago never used. I added the alphabet stickers that I picked up from the dollar bin at JoAnn's  and used some lace strips off a tank top that I was throwing out because it was damaged.
The black card stock I bough from Michaels a long time ago, and it was already embossed. I've had it so long I almost got rid of it. I promised my hubby I would cut down a little on the stash of stuff, and I really am trying. Which is why I'm going to post another give away soon. I've gotta pair down!

There's also a linking party going on at ScrappingMamma's! Join up.

Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop!

Welcome to my Blog and the Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Darla's blog, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can start at the beginning at http://nadiasbeautifulmess.blogspot.com/. This blog hop is all about creating something sweet for your Easter celebrations. We hope you find inspirations and plenty of ideas to spice up your holiday :)

The theme for this blog hop is something sweet. I couldn't think of anything better that strawberry short cake! Here in California it's strawberry season and you can pick up a pint of super sweet strawberries on almost any corner.

To go with my strawberry short cake I made these little napkin rings. Because everyone needs a napkin when enjoying desert.

I made the rings out of the cob of my paper towel roll. (Recycling!) I cut it lengthwise all the way down and flattened it out. Then I used my paper trimmer (yes, I know, I'm a little nutty, but I wanted to measure) to cut out four 1" wide strips. I covered them with this Imaginisce paper on both sides and hot glued them back together. I had this paper left over from some baby shower invites I made and I just had 4" wide strips of it left. Perfect for this project!

For the fan folded flower I cut the 12x4 strips into 12x2 strips of the paper and them punched the length of one side with a Fiskars border punch. I liked the cute little edge that it makes.

I then scored the strip of paper at every 1/2" with my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and folded it. I hot glued the ends together and glued a circle of cardstock to the underside to hold it in place. Then I added the images to the top and glued the flower to the ring over the seam to hide it. I think they turned out okay. The chick is from Create a Critter, and the Tulip is from Gypsy font. The bunny and butterfly are from Gypsy Wanderings.

And now for the blog candy!! In honor of spring I am giving one lucky hopper these flowers. There are 5 bags of flowers here (and some buttons in 2 of the bags) that would be perfect for pretty spring projects. To win you must be a follower. The winner will be chosen randomly from all the comments on this post and announced on Tuesday! For an extra chance to win "like" my facebook page (link is up at the top of the blog) and leave me a comment there!
