O is for Octopus!

My Cricut Craft Room

The letter of the day on  Erica's Craft Room is O, so I created this Octopus Birthday Invitation for my goddaughter Olivia using Life's a Beach and 3 Birds Straight from the Nest

Olivia is turning 1 in May and her favorite toy is her stuffed Ursula doll from The Little Mermaid. Her party theme is going to be under the sea. Olivia's mom asked for simple invitations, so this is what I came up with. I have to make 80 of them (Olivia has a BIG family). I sure hope I have enough paper!

I cut the Octopus out at 3" from Life's a Beach, and added this party had from Straight from the Nest a 2".

Then I added the word party to the card at 1.5" This cut is also from Life's a Beach. I'd better get started on the rest of these, her party is only a month away!

Happy Crafting.

Shabby Accents Blog Hop

Welcome to the Shabby Accents Blog Hop!

If you have arrived here from Ashley's blog you are on the right track. If not, please start HERE.

The shabby chic style has been around for many many years, originating from Great Britain, where time worn items were showcased in most country homes. Today’s essence of shabby chic is to achieve that time worn layered vintage look from yesteryear by painting, distressing, dying or tea staining. Now we bring it to you right from our craft tables.

Please follow along as the following crafters showcase their handmade Shabby Chic Accents. Be sure to visit each blog, as each artist will be having a giveaway. Also, we have a couple of awesome sponsors who have generously donated for a “Grand Prize Giveaway”. Their shops are full of shabby goodness. To qualify, all you have to do is become a follower if not already and leave a comment on each blog stating you are a follower, or have become one.

Now on to my project:

My card today is made with Cheeky Cherry Pie from the Greeting Farm. I've been using this stamp to practice coloring hair, and I think I'm getting a little better. Shabby Chic is not really my strong suit, so I tried to use lots of embellishments. The striped paper is from Graphic 45 and it's flocked for texture. The silk ribbons are from Michaels, and the lace is from MB Treasurista. The ribbon I bough from MB Tresurista was too bright to match the paper, but the lace was a free gift with purchase, and it worked out well. I also used blue and platinum Liquid Pearls right above the green ribbon, and a Prima flower on the bow. The flourishes I cut with my Cricut using the Straight from the Nest cartridge.

I also have some blog candy! I am giving away 2 magazines! To enter please leave a comment on my blog. You must be a follower to win!

I hope you liked my project. Your next stop is Michele.

25 Days in December Design Team- Snow Theme

Welcome to Erica's Craft Room
25 Days of Christmas.
Don't forget to stop by Erica's blog to see more projects today....
and every day in December.

Today I made a home decor wall hanger with the snow theme. I used a large paint stir-er for my mounting piece. I just spray painted it white and added some clear pushpins.

The flags are from Straight from the Nest and I cut them out at 7". I used Chatterbox Artsy.licious paper to make them. Its hard to see but the paper is glittered.

The snowflakes are from When it's Cold Outside (seasonal cart) and I covered them with glitter. The are all cut at 3"

The font is from Winter Woodlands. I really like the font on that cart! It's so fancy.

I liked this one so much I had to use it at my office instead of my house.
I also entered this project in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge- Rolling in Ribbon since it has blue ribbon on it
Happy Crafting!
