Blog Award!

I got another blog award! This one is from Carla at Carla's Cards. Thank you so much Carla.

After accepting the Versatile Blogger Award, the blogger must

  1. Thank the person who gave the award and link back to them in your post.
  2. Share 7 things about yourself.
  3. Pass this award along to 15 recently discovered blogs.
Now I would like to share 7 things about myself with you.

1. I love Tinkerbell
2. I hate eggplant.
3. I hate my bicycle. Don't tell my husband because he loves biking and we go once a week.
4. I love to bake, but I hate my kitchen. I have no counter space.
5. My friend's dad died recently, and I cried through the entire funeral. I still cry if I think about it.
6. The lady I call mom is not actually my mom. She is just one of my friends.
7. I am mad at Michaels. They hired a bunch of young people who don't know anything about crafting, and can't even work a register. They kept ringing up my purchase wrong. Hello, if you work at a store you should know what is on sale and how the sale works! The first time I've been in that store in months and I am very disappointed.

And now to pass this wonderful award on. Instead of agonizing over who to give this to I am going to give this award to all of you, my wonderful followers! Just click and copy this award and add it to your blog. You deserve it.

Happy Crafting!

Tipsy Tuesday With Sweet Stamping Treats

Today I am going to share a tip with you about my Copic Markes. Many people tell me that they don't know what to do with the Copic blender pen. This is one of the ways to use.

Last week I did a project for the Sweet Stamping Treats Challenge.

Inside I colored this stamp

To achieve the light red on this image I used this Copic Marker.

It's a dark red. I had to use it because I don't own any lighter colors of red markers.  If I had colored on the image with this marker it would have come out very dark and not match the red on the paper I used for the project. So I used my Copic Blender pen to apply the color instead. I started by coloring on my clear acrylic stamping bloc like this:
This gave me a pallet to pick up my color from. I don't recommend trying to pick up color from marker to mark with the blender because it only seems to transfer the blender solution to the color marker.I used the blender to pick up the color off of the stamping block onto the tip of the marker.

Then I used my Copic blender to color in the parts of the pinwheel that I wanted to be red. I colored a little space at a time, going back and picking up color from the pallet and applying it to the image until I go the consistency and color I wanted.

The trick was to color a very small area in strokes. Trying to color in a circle made it splotchy, and coloring too long made the color separate because it applied too much blender solution. I think it came out very well and the color matches the paper perfectly.

This is one of the many uses for the Copic blender pen. I hope this tip helps you with your coloring!

Happy Crafting!

Sweet Stamping Treats Tag, Bag or Box Challenge

This week at Sweet Stamping Treats the challenge is to make a tag, bag, or box using a SST stamp. I chose a box. I saw this box as an invitation that one of my co-workers made for her daughter's birthday party.

I thought it was so cute I just had to try it! I picked some cute My Mind's Eye paper to make it. Here's a view from the top.

This is what it looks like when you remove the lid. I used the pinwheel stamp from Sweet Stamping Treats.

Cut out a second set of pinwheels and pop dotted the pinwheels to give it some depth. You can see that better from the side.

These are the colors that I used to color in the stamp.

Happy Crafting!

Princess Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and the Princess Blog Hop.  If you happen to stumble upon my Blog and would like to play along please do so by starting at Sylvia's blog over at
To check out the Sweet Stamping Treats giveaway click here.

For this hop I decided to make something for a little princess that I know. She is very special, and I thought that she deserved something pretty and hand made for her bedroom.
This is Miss Olivia. She is 2 1/2 months old and has the most beautiful blue eyes. Olivia and her Mommy are visiting from out of state. They came to be with Olivia's grandfather, who passed away from cancer on Thursday. Little Olivia is having a hard time with all of this, constant changes in location and lack of routine have made her a bit fussy. And I know exactly how Mommy feels, as I lost my own mother to cancer more than 20 years ago.

So I made this banner for Olivia to take home with her and hang in her room. I hope that it will remind Olivia and her Mommy that someone out here besides Grandpa thinks she is a princess.

I cut the castles from Life's a Beach, and I used Best Creations patterned paper and glitter paper to create them. I also backed them with chipboard so they would be sturdy enough for the travel home.

I made a crown, because what princess would be complete without her crown? This one is from Happily Ever after. Of course I did some resizing with my Gypsy. I punched holes in each of the designs and ran some satin ribbon through them and tied bows.

And a of course a heart. Olivia is sure the be a heart breaker soon with those baby blues. This one is from Create a Critter and I really like the way it looks.

The font I used to cut out the letters is Jasmine. And what would a Princess Blog Hop be without candy?
I have put together some sweet blog candy for you. This includes a Chatterbox album in chocolate brown (i love this one by the way) some Inkadinakdo damask stamps, a set of 66 chipboard flowers from Making Memories, and all the other fun crafty stuff you see here. All you have to do to for a chance to win is leave a comment on this post and be a follower of my blog. For a second chance to win like me on Facebook (the link is on my sidebar) and leave a comment telling me that you did.  Have a Royal Day and Happy Crafting!
