Changes!

So I know I haven't been posting projects lately, but hey I have a new look to the blog! Luckily I have a sister-in-law who knows computers, and she helped me create this new look. Things are very crazy right now, but I'm hoping that they settle down and I can get back to creating again. I'm so happy to be back from my Vegas weekend. My loving hubby took me to Vegas for my birthday (Easter Sunday this year!) and we saw Jersey Boys. If you are into music at all I highly recommend it. The singers are amazing!

Please come back on Saturday as I have another blog hop, and you know there will be another project:

and maybe some blog candy! Since it was my birthday I have something good!

Big thanks to you Cindy for pointing this out to me!!!!! (Even though I'm a little late) My "Thank Ewe" card was featured on the 2/22/11 Cricut Chirp under message board highlights

Here is a link to my message board post. Thank EWE

And yes I know I need to pick a winner from the blog hop, and I promise I will soon. I just got so excited I had to tell you!

Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop!

Welcome to my Blog and the Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Darla's blog, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can start at the beginning at http://nadiasbeautifulmess.blogspot.com/. This blog hop is all about creating something sweet for your Easter celebrations. We hope you find inspirations and plenty of ideas to spice up your holiday :)

The theme for this blog hop is something sweet. I couldn't think of anything better that strawberry short cake! Here in California it's strawberry season and you can pick up a pint of super sweet strawberries on almost any corner.

To go with my strawberry short cake I made these little napkin rings. Because everyone needs a napkin when enjoying desert.

I made the rings out of the cob of my paper towel roll. (Recycling!) I cut it lengthwise all the way down and flattened it out. Then I used my paper trimmer (yes, I know, I'm a little nutty, but I wanted to measure) to cut out four 1" wide strips. I covered them with this Imaginisce paper on both sides and hot glued them back together. I had this paper left over from some baby shower invites I made and I just had 4" wide strips of it left. Perfect for this project!

For the fan folded flower I cut the 12x4 strips into 12x2 strips of the paper and them punched the length of one side with a Fiskars border punch. I liked the cute little edge that it makes.

I then scored the strip of paper at every 1/2" with my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and folded it. I hot glued the ends together and glued a circle of cardstock to the underside to hold it in place. Then I added the images to the top and glued the flower to the ring over the seam to hide it. I think they turned out okay. The chick is from Create a Critter, and the Tulip is from Gypsy font. The bunny and butterfly are from Gypsy Wanderings.

And now for the blog candy!! In honor of spring I am giving one lucky hopper these flowers. There are 5 bags of flowers here (and some buttons in 2 of the bags) that would be perfect for pretty spring projects. To win you must be a follower. The winner will be chosen randomly from all the comments on this post and announced on Tuesday! For an extra chance to win "like" my facebook page (link is up at the top of the blog) and leave me a comment there!

Thanks so much stamped card

I made this card for My Creative Time Throwback Thursday challenge # 179. You had to follow the sketch and it has to be Cricut-less! So this is what I came up with. The paper is from the DCWV La Creme stack. The stamp is Dahlia from The Greeting Farm, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

If this card looks a little big, that's because it is. My co-worker asked me to make her a card that 20 people could sign, so I went for a 7.5x6. I think it came out okay. I'm still working on my coloring skills, so I though that a two tone would be best for me right now. I hope you like it.

Happy Crafting!

Hey all! I just wanted to say yay, I got another award. This one comes from Susan at http://cricutandgrasshopper.blogspot.com. Thank you so much Susan! As a recipient of this blog award I am to do the following:

1. Thank the person who sent it to you
2. Tell 7 things about yourself
3. Send this to 5 fellow versatile bloggers

Mickey and Minnie

If you are here from Momo's blog please scroll down to the next post to leave your comment. But feel free to browse!

This is for another Bitten by the Bug two challenge, Disney! I love Disney, and I have tons of friends who take their kids to Disneyland on the regular. So I made this layout. I like that it's simple and I can easily make it when I need to whip up an gift in a hurry.

I also saw this paper that made me think of Minnie so I made a little something extra. Maybe I will cut out a bow or Minnie to go on this one too. The cuts are from the Mickey and Friends cartridge. The punch is from Martha Stewart.

Happy Crafting.
