Would You Ever Guess Wednesday with My Cricut Craft Room

Today is WYEGW on Erica's Design Team. This means we need to use a feature other than the main image on any cartridge for our projects. I used the Accent feature on page 43 of Give a Hoot to make the flags for this Birthday Banner Card.

I used DCWV patterned paper, and then a bunch of solid cardstock scraps from my stash. The "Happy" stickers are from the dollar bin at Joann's and the bird stamps are from the Birds and Branches set from Hero Arts. The word Birthday is from Inspired Stamps.

I hope you liked my project. To see more projects like mine please visit Erica's blog. Happy Crafting!

A Very Evil Card

Hehe! I love this card. I created this one to enter into the Eric's Craft Room Sketch Challenge. It came to me when I was about to fall asleep. I took a little artistic license with the rules, but who cares! That's what crafting is about.

Can you guess what my theme is? Yes, it's the Wicked Queen! I bought this glitter paper (it actually has silver glitter in it, but it's so cool. This mirror is From Dreams Come True. It's part of the Jasmine images, but it's the one that I though would be best as the mirror. And yes, that is silver reflective paper that I used for the glass. It was really hard to take a photo at a good angle where I wasn't reflected in it. The apple is from Happily Ever After, and yes it is from the Snow White images.

Hope I win, the prize is the Sophie Cartridge!!!!! Happy Crafting.

Shabby Accents Blog Hop

Welcome to the Shabby Accents Blog Hop!

If you have arrived here from Ashley's blog you are on the right track. If not, please start HERE.

The shabby chic style has been around for many many years, originating from Great Britain, where time worn items were showcased in most country homes. Today’s essence of shabby chic is to achieve that time worn layered vintage look from yesteryear by painting, distressing, dying or tea staining. Now we bring it to you right from our craft tables.

Please follow along as the following crafters showcase their handmade Shabby Chic Accents. Be sure to visit each blog, as each artist will be having a giveaway. Also, we have a couple of awesome sponsors who have generously donated for a “Grand Prize Giveaway”. Their shops are full of shabby goodness. To qualify, all you have to do is become a follower if not already and leave a comment on each blog stating you are a follower, or have become one.

Our Sponsors
The Funkie Junkie-$15.00 Gift Certificate

Sa Crafters-$20.00 Gift Certificate

Now on to my project:

My card today is made with Cheeky Cherry Pie from the Greeting Farm. I've been using this stamp to practice coloring hair, and I think I'm getting a little better. Shabby Chic is not really my strong suit, so I tried to use lots of embellishments. The striped paper is from Graphic 45 and it's flocked for texture. The silk ribbons are from Michaels, and the lace is from MB Treasurista. The ribbon I bough from MB Tresurista was too bright to match the paper, but the lace was a free gift with purchase, and it worked out well. I also used blue and platinum Liquid Pearls right above the green ribbon, and a Prima flower on the bow. The flourishes I cut with my Cricut using the Straight from the Nest cartridge.

I also have some blog candy! I am giving away 2 magazines! To enter please leave a comment on my blog. You must be a follower to win!

I hope you liked my project. Your next stop is Michele.

Scrapbook Page for Erica's Design Team

Today's theme on My Cricut Craft Room is Baby Animal Scrapbooking. I though this would be easy because I have loads of pictures from the San Diego Zoo. Last year for my anniversary we went to San Diego so that I could take a Copic Certification Course with Marianne Walker. So when we visited the Zoo my hubby and I got to feed the giraffes.

I made this layout using Base Camp and New Arrivals. The background paper is from Galloping Horse Productions.

The giraffes are from New Arrivals, and I used paper from Pinecone Press's Halloween line to make them.

I used a purple Copic Multiliner to outline the face, and the twine on the little giraffe.

The picture of my hubby trying to feed them is priceless. I ended up buying the photos from the Zoo because I was so busy feeding them I didn't have time to take good photos myself. To see more projects like mine please visit My Cricut Craft Room. Happy Crafting.

Crafty Friends Who Care Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Who Care blog hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 2 of this very special hop. We have a whole new line-up of fabulous projects for you. But the most important thing about this is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help a friend a fellow crafter, Liz Decade. Liz is battling 2 different forms of acute Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. We are hoping that this hop will help her to find a match. You can see her story at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va6RNwYj4BE&list=UUz-JkPSKRldHJNbbEotv8DQ&feature=plcp.

Even if you are not a match for Liz, you can still help her. You see bone marrow registrations drives are expensive, you have to pay for each person who is registered, and Liz is trying to raise money for bone marrow drives and medical expenses (it costs a lot of money to get a transplant). You can donate to Liz at lizquesada.leukemia@gmail.com. All of the money donated will go to bone marrow drives or medical expenses.

And we have some wonderful sponsors who have donated prizes for our hop. Sweet Stamping Treats Digital Stamps, Trendy Twine, MB Treasurista, Paper Piecings by Nikki, Inspired Stamps, My Pink Stamper, Peachy Keen Stamps and Market Street Stamps have all donated prizes to this hop. In order to be eligible for one of  these prizes you must comment on every blog in this hop! There are other requirements for the sponsors so please see Liz's blog post for more details.

If you are coming from  Liz's blog (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com), you are in the right place!

My project today is another card. I think this one appeals to the fashoinista in me.

These shoes came from the Disney Princess Cartridge Happily Ever after. The wording I did on my computer and printed it on white cardstock. The animal print pink paper is from Karen Foster, and the animal Print Teal paper is from The Paper Studio. The pink glitter paper is from Best Creations.

This is the inside sentiment. I think it works perfectly.

And don't forget about my blog candy, the January/February Issue of both Paper Crafts Magazine and Creating Keepsakes.

To be eligible you must be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment telling me where you shared this blog hop with your friends. It can be on Facebook, any crafting site you belong to, your blog, twitter, email, anything! Just as long as you share it.

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor. Your next stop is Ashley

Crafty Friends Who Care Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 1 of this very special hop. The mission of this blog hop is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help a friend a fellow crafter, Liz Decade. If you are coming from Liz (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com), you are right on track. If not please start from Liz's blog.

My project today is a card that I made with a sentiment stamp from Stampendous. I thinks that it's really appropriate to this hop.

The swirls around the sentiment are from another stamp set, but I don't know who makes it. The flowers are from Prima and the bling from my stash. The striped paper is from Imaginisce, and the green pattern paper is from DCWV's Nana's Nursery girl stack

And I have some blog candy of my own. I am giving away a copy of the January issues of both Papercrafts Magazine, and Creating Keepsakes. But this one is not so easy to win. To enter you must be a follower of my blog, and leave me a comment telling me that you have shared this blog hop with your friends. Either facebook, twitter, email, or some other means, but you have to tell me how! Sharing this hop is super important, because you never know who could help Liz!

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to http://www.marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor.

Use stamps on a card Erica's Craft Room

My Cricut Craft Room

Today's theme on My Cricut Craft Room is use stamps on a card. Well I love to use stamps on cards! But since we don't use digi's for this design team I stuck to my sentiment stamps.

I made this card using the silhouette A Child's Year and and the heart from Create A Critter. The silhouette is Cut at 3.5" and the heart at 2". The stamp on the bottom is from Inkadinakdo. I used Chatterbox foil paper in red for the background.

I also made this quick card using Sweet Treats and some scraps I had in my pile 'o scrap. I needed a quick birthday card and who doesn't love cupcakes. The stamp is from Inspired Stamps. Happy Crafting!

I cut McQueen at 3" and then Happy Birthday at 1". This is a simple card, but effective for a little boy's birthday. This image is a little hard to cut because some pieces are very thin, so you will need your Cricut Spatula to lift it off the mat.

And I have some blog candy for you! A copy of this month's Simply Handmade!
