Cupcake Blog Hop

Welcome to Cupcake Wars! No bloodshed here, just plenty of sugar! If you didn't start at Janet's blog: http://janetscreativeworld.blogspot.com/ please do so! She's giving away a Cricut Lite Cartridge-Cupcake! How sweet is that?
We don't want you to miss any of the scrumptious projects and some have even left recipes for you to try! As we head into the holiday season, you might just have a new family favorite!
You should have come from: Amanda's I'm so glad you're here now, so check out my project and what I cooked up for you!

My project for today is a cupcake themed layout for my little cousin Owen. He has such a cute little face, and I hope that his mommy likes it.

The cupcakes and hats are from Doodlecharms and the saying is from Sweet Treats

I used paper from My Minds Eye because it has great boy colors. I used rhinestones for the flames on the little cupcakes.

And because these are chocolate cupcakes I want to share my favorite chocolate raspberry cupcake recipe!

Cupcakes:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed of mixer 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter willl be thin)

Line muffin cups (2-1/2 inches in diameter) with paper bake cups. Heat oven to 350°F. Fill cups 2/3 full with batter. Bake 22 to 25 minutes. Cool completely.

Now for the raspberry!

1 can of frosting and 1 jar of raspberry preserves
Mix 1 cup of raspberry preserves with the frosting until smooth

Take the rest of the raspberry preserves and put them in a pastry bag with a narrow tip. Inject preserves into each cupcake. then frost with the raspberry frosting.

It's Popsicle Time

Okay, so I have ice cream on the mind these days. It's summer, it's hot, which makes it the perfect time for ice cream. However if I ate it as much as I think about it I would gain 10 lbs, so instead I just keep creating it!

This is the Popsicle from Doodlecharms. I made it into a car using my Gypsy. I made two versions of this card, and I think I like this second one better.
Way less calories than the real thing.

Happy Crafting!

Fall Decor Blog Hop

Welcome to the oh so fun Fall Decor Blog Hop. If you have arrived from Ashley's blog you are in the right place! If you want to start from the beginning go to:http://theglamoroussideofscrapping.blogspot.com.  And don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Sweet Stamping Treats October Release Blog Hop! This hop is all about decorating for fall. So I decided to decorate my mantle with some simple candles.

I bought these battery powered candles last year at the after Christmas sale. I have to have the battery operated ones because I'm afraid cats will catch fire otherwise! The look pretty good all lit up.

I use a simple band of brown paper, and then cut some fall images with my Cricut

This month I am giving away a crafting  prize package on October 31st. I already showed pictures of the ribbon and paper I am giving away in the pack.

Plus I'm adding this to the prize:

To enter leave a comment on this post. then come back and see if you won on October 31st. You must be a follower to win!

Word Card Making Day Blog Hop

Hi all! It's day 2of the World Card Making Day Blog Hop. This is a 5 day blog hop with 10 participants every day!. If you arrived from Linda's blog you are in the right place.

My card today is a shaped  just because greeting card.

The jar is from Doodlecharms. I used my Gypsy to weld it together to make a card shape. The stick is also from Doodlecharms, but the lighting bugs are from Stretch Your Imagination.

I used some twine around the top and attached my own little tag that says "You light up my life"

Comment on this post to be entered to win my October Blog Candy! I will announce the winner on October 31. I had a picture of the ribbon included in the blog candy on Saturday, and today I have a picture of the paper that will be included. I call it a card makers pack. It's from my massive collection of scraps.

Happy Crafting!

Christmas Card Crazy

I have finished with Christmas Cards, and I wanted a lot of options this year. Everyone will get something a little different! These are all easy cards to make because I didn't have that much time. Also why they are going up in all one post. All of the pattern paper is from one of my older DCWV Christmas stacks. I would have loved to buy new paper this year, but I just have too much already. (I know, you can never have too much, but I'm trying to cut back!)

This one is my favorite. I call it "Holly Jolly". Of course they are all from the Cricut. The shield is cut from the Storybook cart, each one is 1/2" smaller than the previous one to give it some definition. I had a big bag of buttons (say that three time fast) that I got for $2 at a craft fair to use for the holly berries. The leaves are from the Winter Woodlands cart. I put Glossy Accents from Ranger Inc on the leave to make them shinny.

I call this my "Blue Christmas" card. This card is also from Winter Woodlands. I punched the bottom of the card with a Fiskars border punch to give it a lace look. The circle medallion is a 2" circle punch. I printed out Merry Christmas on white card stock from my computer, and stamped the other side with a snowflake. Then I used the stamp pad to ink the edges on both sides.

This card is for those friends who don't celebrate Christmas. I like the paper and I think that the sentiment is very neutral. Not exciting but east to put together. The snowflakes are from the Joys of the Season cart and the scalloped circle is from Storybook.

This Santa is from the Doodlecharms cart. I had these smaller green and red cards lying around so I made use of them. I cut him at 4" which worked out perfectly. I used my Gypsy for this card because these cuts have multiple parts to them. Otherwise I would have to have cut several pieces in red that I would have to have thrown away just to get Santa's red nose.

Last is my little "Chu Chu" card. I was in a blue mood that day. The punch is from Marth Steward and the ornament is from the Joys of the Season cart.
